Aanandha Vikatan

Iam great fan of this weekly Tamil(A language spoken by a state in southern part of India. The state is called Tamil Nadu. 'Nadu' means Country. A country where Tamilians live) magazine. Happiness in Tamil is 'Aanandham' and 'Vikatan' is Amuser. Yes the magazine is amusing. Though the magazine has its own masala(in India masala means a thing which is made with all ingredients to satisfy everyone) it is unique in its style with some classic articles.

The articles I love in the magazine are "Kattrathum Petrathum", "Kathavilasam", "Aungum Ingum", "Vedi Vedi Velu Vadivelu", "Madan's Pakkam" and "Tabu Sankar's Pakkam".

"Kattrathum Petrathum" is by a famous writer of Tamil nadu Mr.Sujatha. He has worked in India's prestigious electronics corporate Bharath Electronics Limited (BEL). His articles are interwined with comedy and science. I really enjoy his style and the way he 'preaches' science through them. Learnt things and Obtained things is the crude translation of the title of the article. (Sorry I'm not well versed with English)

Most of the writers in Tamil to my knowledge had suffered a lot before become popular. Their sufferings and experience doesn't go waste , they are blooming as their stories and articles. This man Mr.S.Ramakrishnan is of this kind. His articles are very touching and most of them were real events. I like to read articles which contains reality in them. The Address of the Story or The orgin of Story - Kathavilasam

Angum Ingum is litereally means Here and There. This article for instance take a school going boy one in Urban area and another in rural area and compare their life style from morning till evening.

Vedi Vedi Velu Vadivelu is light hearted article about a famous comedian Vadivelu from Tamil nadu. I'm not sure whether this article is written by him in a way that pleases the audience. But his language(same tamil with different accent) and his village nature is liked by me.

Madans' Q&A and Tabu sankar's Romance pages are mesmerising.
